Ecademy was founded by professional public school educators. Compared to many other online schools, this is a tremendous benefit for parents and students. Some online schools were formed first as a business venture and secondarily as a rich learning environment. Ecademy combines high quality online learning experiences with a student-centered and family friendly learning community that is both flexible and accessible to students and parents.
Executive Director
David Damico has been in public education for thirteen years, having served the last six years as a school associate principal and principal. Prior to entering public education, David was the director of a non-profit counseling organization where he wrote and published two books: The Faces of Rage and the Influential Parent. He has been a Core Adjunct faculty member at National University, teaching courses in educational technology to pre-service and graduate level teachers. He is also a post-graduate fellow of the Institute for Dialogical Psychotherapy, an editorial consultant, and content developer.
Office Manager
Over the past 20 years Mary Miles has been served in a variety of school-support capacities. Prior to coming to Ecademy she spent 8 years as the School Secretary for McMillin Elementary School in the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
